The Story

They tell you the war is
over

The part they get wrong is thinking it's not still being fought.

Caleb is losing. It's 2 AM in a rain-wet city. He's alone in his apartment with his phone, his shame, and a photo of his late brother — the only man who ever told him the truth. He pulls on a black hoodie and heads out for a night shift he can barely feel.

Then the veil tears.

A streetlight flickers red. Cracks open in the air. On a bench, a man sits unaware while a GLUT — a dripping gray mass — feeds on him, whispering "mmmore... nnnever enough..." And the thing sees Caleb: "you ssee me... you look hungry too."

Then the Voice comes. Gold light cuts the red. "CALEB. IT IS REAL. YOU ARE ONLY NOW AWAKE."

Caleb: "Why me?"
"NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE STRONG. BECAUSE YOU ARE WILLING. ARE YOU WILLING?"

Caleb says yes. And for the first time, the Armor forms — gold erupts from the cruciform seam, plate forms over his chest, rain freezes lit gold. He speaks the first true thing he's said in years: "Sin is the enemy. Not me. Not him. It."

But the first fight is clumsy. The Sentinel stumbles. GLUT backhands him through a car. The gold dims. It's only when Caleb stops pretending to be strong — when he surrenders and speaks the real truth — that the Belt of Truth blazes and the fight turns.

One enemy down. Six more to go. And they already know his name.

The War

7 Issues. 7 Enemies.
One War.

The Veil-Sight is a 7-issue arc through the Armor of God. Each enemy breaks a piece of Caleb. Each issue reveals a piece of the Armor — and a piece of his heart.

01
The Call vs GLUT — Belt of Truth. A man sees the war. He says yes. He speaks the first true thing.
02
What It Costs vs MAMMON — Breastplate. The Armor takes everything. Pastor Eli once took the deal.
03
The Face You Want vs ASMODA — Helmet. The hidden addiction. The mirror shatters only when he tells the truth aloud.
04
Do Nothing vs TORPOR — Boots of Peace. The nearly-lost-quiet fight. The Armor goes cold.
05
Burn It Down vs SPITE — Shield of Faith. Lower your fists. Trust, not fury.
06
The Mirror vs VYRE — The Heart. Pride's root. The corrupted copy. Cliffhanger: "Hello, Caleb."
07
The Morning vs LUCIAN — Surrender. Pride can't cast out pride. Caleb wins by laying the Armor down.

Creator Notes

The Story Behind
the Story

The Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10–18

Every issue takes one piece of the Armor — not as a metaphor, but as a weapon the Sentinel puts on. The Belt of Truth in issue #1 is about speaking the first true thing out loud, not about knowing a fact.

The Seven Deadlies

As Real Enemies

GLUT, MAMMON, ASMODA, TORPOR, SPITE, VYRE, LUCIAN — each one is a real spiritual enemy that men actually fight. They don't look like monsters. They look like what you reach for at 2AM.

Visual Language

Gold · Red · Black

Gold = the Armor, the holy, the fight. It brightens with surrender and dims with pride. Red = the enemy, the corruption, the lie. Black = the void where the war happens. Same palette as the brand — one world.

Lettering Style

Three Voices

The enemy speaks in jagged, corrupted red balloons. Mara (the Voice) speaks in gold caps. Caleb speaks in standard bone white on black. The reader never wonders who is speaking.
